UK workers collectively take off around 78 million working days per annum, with some 13.9 million people taking at least one day off due to sickness, research has revealed.  According to the HSE 6 million working days are lost each year in the North West alone.

Other than the direct costs of sick pay etc resulting from injury or sickness, there are the additional costs of lost productivity which are reportedly higher in the UK than any other EU country.

HEADS Recruitment promotes and encourages best practice within our temporary workers in many ways:-

• Health & safety policies are provided at registration reminding them of their responsibilities for their own and their colleagues’ safety
• Wherever possible information booklets are provided specific to a client operation detailing health & safety specific to this client / site
• Wherever possible on-site inductions (often pre-placement) are carried out by HRL (although sometimes with client accompaniment) covering health & safety expectations and standards
• PPE such as safety boots and Hi-viz vests are provided where needed
• We take the time to understand a clients operation and requirements so that this can be translated into the most appropriate and informed candidate
• Copies of certificates / licences for operating any manual handling equipment (eg Fork Lifts) are taken at interview and held on file
• Candidate communication skills are graded at interview to ensure that everyone we assign has the capacity to understand any instruction (including safety signs)
