The Sales Team did it! Three Peaks completed in 22 hours and 55 mins.
It was an excellent effort from all involved and a great experience all around, a great way to raise money for such a great cause. We’re currently collecting our offline donations and believe we’ve raised in the region of £1500.00 for Francis House Children’s House.
The weather was on our side all the way up to the Scottish Highlands, but within 5 minutes of leaving the van to tackle Ben Nevis the heavens opened!
There were some grumpy faces aboard the bus on the journey to Scafell Pike, but the Electronic 80’s CD did it’s best to keep spirits high, and half way up the climb of Scafell the sun rose on what turned out to be the best day of the year!
Having programmed the Sat Nav to take us on the “shortest route” to Snowdon, when ideally we wanted the “quickest” (there’s still an internal investigation going on to get to the bottom of this stupidity), we ended up coming through Liverpool City Centre on a Saturday lunch time before heading through the Mersey Tunnels and into the Wirral when we really thought we were up against the clock.
In the end, we did it in a great time and the efforts of the team were amazing with some members having done zero training AND Andrew Sidwell from our Logistics branch walking the whole thing in a pair of Safety Boots!
Thank you to all that sponsored us, and we look forward to the next challenge in 2015.
